As the chief marketing officer & executive vice president of strategic partnerships, “Mel” oversees Good360’s external and internal communications and key strategic partnerships. In this role, she communicates Good360’s mission, vision and programs to the organization’s many stakeholders.
Mel possesses more than 21 years of experience working with nonprofit organizations and trade associations, including the National Wildlife Federation, the National Endowment for Democracy, the American Bankruptcy Institute and IFES. During her tenure at the American Bankruptcy Institute, she worked with her team to launch a powerful, interactive website that provided instant access and service for the first time in the organization’s history. Her time at IFES was spent overseeing the external relations program, including a crisis communications plan, the outreach and marketing teams and the editorial team for a prestigious, four-color magazine.
During her tenure at Good360, Mel has worked with her team to grow the nonprofit network more than 500 percent, rebrand the organization, improve communications to our nonprofit network in several ways, including introducing the first-ever Good360 101 webinars, plan the first-ever corporate partner conference, revise Good360’s membership structure and help to move the organization online. As a former journalist and editor, Mel’s articles have appeared in a variety of publications. In recent years, she has spoken at several conferences and Webinars about product giving and how it can benefit both businesses and nonprofits.
Mel is a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer who worked with a small NGO in the Russian Far East on some of the first environmental education programs in the Amur Region. She possesses a bachelor’s degree from Cornell University, and a master’s degree from Johns Hopkins University. Mel is a former country specialist for Amnesty International.
