Beautifying Communities- One Employee At A Time

Donor News Archive

The road to discover innovative ways to donate products is a path that Good360 constantly travels, and our partnership with AkzoNobel is a clear demonstration of this journey.  AkzoNobel, a global leader in decorative paints, and Good360 have developed an interactive donation portal providing AkzoNobel employees an easy and effective way to donate paint to local nonprofits.

The online tool, collaboratively designed by Good360 and AkzoNobel, allows an employee to select a 501(c)(3) nonprofit of his/her choice as a charity recipient, browse through four categories of paint (i.e., ceiling, primer, interior and exterior), choose up to 20 gallons and select a pick-up location (e.g., Glidden store) for the ultimate donation.  Developed as means to increase employee engagement, The AkzoNobel Employee Paint Donation Program gives AkzoNobel staff the opportunity to restore local churches, libraries, classrooms, fire stations, recreation centers, etc.  Employees are given t-shirts displaying the company’s name and encouraged not only to pick-up and deliver the paint to the charity of choice, but to assist with the actual painting itself.

While the program is extremely helpful in keeping communities beautiful and AkzoNobel employees altruistic, the benefits of donating paint extend far beyond the noticeable “restoration” affect.  Providing such a donation also helps nonprofits improve their top-lines because it averts the need for them to spend money for a critical refresh.  Barb Bialko (Principle – St. Mary School) conveyed, “Our school office and classrooms look so much nicer with freshly painted walls. In addition, the donation also greatly assisted us in meeting our annual budget.”

To date, the program has gained much success, with more than 2,100 gallons donated to over 100 charities.  “As the world’s largest paint and coatings company, AkzoNobel has partnered with Good360 to help make an indelible impact on communities across the country. Paint can go a far way to transform places and spaces, and the team at Good360 helps to make this ambition become a reality. Together, we’re adding color to people’s lives,” shared Eric Stasiowski (Director, Communications North America - AkzoNobel).
