This past December, Fisher-Price® pledged donations and teamed up with Good360 to create a social media campaign aimed at donating toy kits to charities across the nation. Through their Gift of Play Facebook campaign, Fisher-Price and Good360 asked parents and the community to “like” Fisher-Price’s page and then nominate a charity to receive the toy donations.
“The Gift of Play Facebook Campaign is a great example of eliciting community involvement and connecting with various charities,” said Cindy Hallberlin, President and CEO of Good360. “We are very grateful to Fisher-Price for teaming with us to create the opportunity to benefit families across the nation.”
A total of 193 toy kits containing a variety of items, from building blocks to tea sets, were assembled and distributed during the first quarter of this year. The toy kits reached 164 nonprofits in 37 states with the value of the toys averaging about $550 per kit. The campaign generated between 200,000 - 250,000 new “likes.”
“We’re very grateful for the Fisher-Price toys we received, which will be used for our holiday program in December,” said Julie Lapointe, St. Louis Park Emergency Program. “Our program is such that the parents pick out the toys. We very deeply appreciate it.”
