While winter can bring many wonderful memories of laughter and friendship for some, it also can be a dreaded season for those needing the basic necessities of food, shelter and clothing. With the overall poverty rate climbing in just one short year from 14.3 percent to 15.1 percent, even more Americans are financially suffering. To be exact 1 out of every 6 Americans now lives in poverty.  

Good360 is trying to prepare for winter and get essential product donations that our nonprofit network will need to help their communities—communities that include your neighbors, their children, the homeless, and the under and unemployed who are all struggling to survive. Blankets and sleeping bags, tents, personal hygiene products, clothing including jackets and sweatshirts, and many more items are necessary to help people survive through the winter.

“Twenty-six, twenty-two and twenty-nine; paltry numbers representing the average HIGH temperatures in Minneapolis for December, January and February. To live in the Twin Cities means to survive below-freezing weather for three months each year. Warmth is of vital importance, and blankets are not a luxury, but a basic human necessity,” said, Alan Arthur, president of Aeon (a nonprofit that develops high-quality affordable apartment apartments in Minneapolis)
