Mike Kelley
Chair, Board of Directors

Mike Kelley is the Chair of the Board of Directors of Gifts In Kind International. He is the Chief Sustainability Officer at YRC Worldwide Inc. Mike is responsible for the development, implementation and integration of reporting across YRC Worldwide. Mike also serves as Vice President, External Affairs, where he is responsible for the promotion and protection of YRCW interests before trade associations and with legislative and regulatory officials at the local, state and federal level.
His experience includes positions at the Kansas Motor Carriers Association, Yellow Freight Systems, and the U.S. House of Representatives and U.S. Senate as a Congressional Aide. He is co-chair of the American Trucking Associations’ Sustainability Task Force and immediate past chair and member of the American Trucking Associations’ Environmental Policy Committee.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science with an emphasis in state and local government from Avila College and a Masters of Business Administration from Rockhurst University. |

Cindy Hallberlin
President & CEO

As the president and CEO, Cindy Hallberlin works with Gifts In Kind International’s staff and volunteer board of directors to define and direct the strategic actions required to achieve its mission.
Prior to joining Gifts In Kind, Cindy served as the Chief Ethics, Diversity and Accountability Officer with U.S. Foodservice. She possesses more than 27 years of experience in labor and employment law, alternative dispute resolution, public relations, ethics and compliance and corporate social responsibility. Throughout her career, Cindy has been recognized for tackling tough business challenges and successfully building and leading teams to reach their business objectives. As the Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer following a $1 billion fraud, she contributed to the cultural transformation of U.S. Foodservice by developing exceptional ethics training and awareness programs, a risk assessment strategy and a model code of conduct. Prior to joining U.S. Foodservice, Cindy developed and successfully managed the U.S. Postal Service's REDRESS employment mediation program, which successfully resolved more than 80 percent of discrimination claims and resulted in $60 million in cost avoidance.
In 2008, she developed the first nationwide corporate philanthropy program at U.S. Foodservice aimed at eradicating hunger in the United States. This program, Full Plates Full Lives, raised more than $4 million in cash and product donations for Feeding America. Cindy holds an undergraduate degree in social work from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, and a law degree from Antioch University. |

Kevin Hagan
Chief Administrative Officer

As Gifts In Kind International’s Chief Administrative Officer, Kevin manages a wide range of organizational efforts. In addition to fundraising and development, Kevin is also responsible for Human Resources, Contracting and Procurement, as well as Warehousing and Distribution. He came to Gifts In Kind in 2009.
Previously, Kevin has spent his career in both the government and private sectors starting his career at the United States Postal Service. During his tenure at the Postal Service, Kevin rose through the national management ranks and managed a variety of initiatives including conflict management and labor relations programs as well several restructuring initiatives.
Most recently, Kevin worked for U.S. Foodservice, Inc, one of America’s premier broadline foodservice distributors. While at U.S Foodservice, he served in several capacities including Director in the Office of Ethics and Compliance as ended his tenure at U.S. Foodservice as the head of corporate communications.
Kevin’s has his Bachelor’s degree in History, Political Science, and German from Mercer University in Georgia. Additionally, Kevin earned his Master’s degree in International Affairs from The American University in Washington, DC.
Kevin is excited to be a part of the Gifts In Kind International team and looks forward to a bright future while helping America’s charitable network. |

Melissa Lanning Trumpower
Executive Vice President, Nonprofit Relations

As the Executive Vice President of Nonprofit Relations, Melissa oversees Gifts In Kind International’s nonprofit network. The Nonprofit Relations department is responsible for directly serving the organization’s nonprofit network, developing national partnerships that allow us to extend our reach and impact, promoting our offerings to new nonprofit organizations, and communicating Gifts In Kind’s mission, vision and programs to the organization’s many stakeholders. Melissa sits on Gifts In Kind’s Leadership Team, working closely with the President and CEO and other team members to develop and implement the organization’s strategy for achieving its mission.
With more than 19 years of experience working in the nonprofit world, Melissa previously held positions at IFES, the American Bankruptcy Institute, the National Endowment for Democracy, the National Wildlife Federation and the National Recreation and Park Association. A Returned Peace Corps Volunteer (Russian Far East), she possesses a bachelor's degree from Cornell University and a master's degree from Johns Hopkins University. |

Shabab Gruberg
Chief Technology Officer

Shabab serves as Gifts In Kind International’s Chief Technology Officer, managing the organization’s IT infrastructure and eCommerce enterprise. Shabab brings a diverse array of talents and skills to the organization, including business development and process improvement, consulting, supply chain management, procurement, project management, and software implementation. Shabab’s work experience encompasses national and international consulting at Blackbaud, with clients such as The American Red Cross and The Bill Clinton Foundation, to business development at SolutionStart, where he doubled the small business’s revenue in one year, transforming it from a local entity into a regional corporation.
Shabab’s technical skills were further honed in the classroom as a professor teaching MCSE, CCNA, and CNA certifications. He has championed numerous eCommerce solutions and developed highly interactive websites. Shabab earned an Electrical and Computer Engineering degree from the University of North Carolina Charlotte and an MBA from the Babcock Graduate School of Management at Wake Forest University with concentrations in Operations and Consulting. |

Doyle Delph
Vice President, Donor Relations

Since
1989, Doyle has held several key leadership positions with Gifts
In
Kind International. As the Vice President of Donor Relations, he oversees the
development, implementation and placement of the donation program.
Doyle plays a central role in ensuring donor retention, participation
and increased giving. He communicates directly with all our corporate
and association donors and oversees a five-person customer relations’ team.
During emergency situations, Doyle is our disaster relief response
coordinator.
Previously, he was the distribution center manager
for the Ace Hardware Corporation’s east coast customer service
center that serves over 600 retail outlets. Doyle has a master’s
degree in business education from Bowling Green State University
and a bachelor of science in business administration and education
from The Defiance College. |

Thomas J. Cantwell
Vice President, Nonprofit Relations

As the Vice President of Nonprofit Relations, T.J. works to understand the needs of GIKI’s nonprofit members and to develop key strategic partnerships with nonprofits.
T.J. was previously the Director of Veterans Housing at Rebuilding Together, a national nonprofit organization providing low-income homeowners with free home repairs and modifications. Prior to Rebuilding Together, T.J. worked for several national trade associations in various positions. He has represented organizations before Congress and Federal Agencies and developed several national education programs to assist businesses in meeting their regulatory requirements. He is a graduate of the University of Virginia, has a Masters in Public Policy from The American University, and holds a certificate in Nonprofit Organizational Management from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. |

Don Miller
Chief Financial Officer

As Chief Finanical Officer, Don is responsible for the financial operations of the company. He is setting the financial strategy of Gifts in Kind through forecasting, cash planning, reporting, and financial analysis.
Prior to joining Gifts in Kind, Don worked at The Home Depot in various roles including Financial Planning and Analysis, Mergers and Acquisitions, and Store Operations Finance. Don received a Marketing Degree from Boston College and a Finance MBA from the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill. |
