Synopsys will be donating recycled computers to nonprofits/NGOs located in communities where Synopsys has a corporate presence and in which significant need for technology exist.

Qualified nonprofits will pick up their systems from a local Synopsys office. Systems will be palletized in quantities of five (5) and, in most cases, consist of the following: Pentium III Dell used desktop or notebook computers with 900Mhz processor, approximately 10GB hard drive and 256 MB of RAM, CD-ROM and 3.4” 1.44 MB floppy disk drive. A temporary operating system of XP is installed, but a license or new operating system will need to be obtained separately by recipient. Desktops will also include mouse, keyboard, connective cabling and MS2000 operating system.

Nonprofits/NGOs must provide programs or services in the following areas: education (primary school) or opportunities for youth services with 501(c)(3) or equivalent nonprofit status in their country to be qualified to receive contributions.
