Gifts In Kind International: Helping Victims of the Earthquake in Haiti

Helping Victims of the Earthquake in Haiti

Gifts In Kind International is deeply saddened and concerned for all those affected by the earthquake in Haiti. We are coordinating with several of our large international nonprofit partners that have offices in Haiti and are currently assessing the in-kind product needs for both first responders and the next phases of clean up and rebuilding. We are also working with our corporate partners and supporters to determine how best to assist in the relief efforts through needed product donations.

We are also surveying our thousands of nonprofit members to determine who has personnel on the ground in Haiti so that we can add them to a list of organizations that are responding.

How Corporations Can Help

If you would like to donate products to help victims of the earthquake, please email a list of the products your company would like to donate so that we can determine if they meet the current or long-term needs of our charitable partners working on the ground in Haiti. Please send your contact information and list of possible product donations to Doyle Delph at ddelph@giftsinkind.org.

How Our Charities Can Help

At this time we are coordinating our initial efforts with our international charitable partners that have personnel working in Haiti. We expect that this will be a long-term relief effort that will require many types of products in the coming months. If your organization has personnel in Haiti at this time, please send your updated needs list to emailteam@giftsinkind.org. We will send out periodic updates to all charitable members working in Haiti at this time.

How Individual Supporters Can Help

Individuals who wish to support the relief work in Haiti can make a cash donation to Gifts In Kind International. Please be sure to note that the donation is made on behalf of “Haitian Relief.” Cash donations provided to Gifts In Kind will be used for international logistics.

Generally, employee or community relief drives collecting previously used personal property (such as clothing and household products) do not benefit the affected community and may make it more difficult for critically needed/requested items to reach those in need. Gifts In Kind International does not accept donations from individuals or from groups of employees or citizens who collect used products. We only accept newly manufactured contributions from corporations.
