Eligibility Guidelines

The following summary criteria have been established for toy donation consideration. Please review the complete eligibility guidelines on the application carefully. Priority is given to nonprofits who serve children ages 3-12. Eligible organizations:

  • Must be public charities, tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code; and located within the U.S.
  • Must directly serve children in need (third-party and fundraising organizations are not qualified; schools, including preschools and day-care, religious, fraternal, business or social organizations are not qualified).

Priority is given to organizations that serve children from three to 12 years.

Note: Mattel is not currently able to contribute toys for schools, daycare centers, toy drives, political and business associations, religious organizations, third-party and fundraising organizations, silent auctions, conferences, gift bag items, incentives or prizes, fundraisers, galas, tournaments, races/runs/walks, or similar events.

Shipment and Request Status Information

Qualified organizations may request toys up to two times per calendar year, for a maximum of 400 toys per agency per year. The majority of our donation packages includes assorted toys for boys and girls and typically consists of two to three types of toys.

Special delivery arrangements cannot be made. All applications will be acknowledged within two weeks of receipt - please allow adequate time before requesting status.

For toy requests specifically for holiday activities, the deadline for the application is September 30.
