Thank you for your generous contributions Tennessee’s Community Assistance Corporation (TCAC) Gifts In Kind program...TCAC has distributed the toys to enhance the lives of many underprivileged children throughout Tennessee. Due to the generosity of The Toy Bank, these children have experienced happier Christmases, birthdays and special events, which have helped build confidence and bridge the gap between those who can and those who cannot. It is also important to recognize that 80% of the people served through your contribution are products of abuse, neglect and mental/physical illness. Oftentimes they have been displaced from other forms of support due to unfortunate and heart-felt circumstances beyond their control.

This letter is to let you know how much the toys we receive from The Toy Bank at Gifts In Kind mean to all who serve in METRO and the children we work with in Dayton’s inner city...Our Kid’s Club! kids live in the most poverty stricken, crime ridden neighborhoods in our city...There is no way for the single moms living in the ghetto to buy the kinds of toys we receive from GIK and give them to their kids. Some of our families are very large with six to as many as eleven kids. They would never have the advantage of playing with these wonderful toys if organizations such as ours didn’t have the ability to team up with organizations like yours and take these toys out to the children, right in their neighborhoods. All the toys we’ve received from GIK are just amazing but I especially love the Leap Frog® toys that teach!!...Eventually the moms were coming to me saying they were learning too as the whole family and neighbors would get together and quiz each other using the Leap Frog® toys!
